BRAVO ZULU: Ryobi Impact Driver

Bravo Zulu (BZ) is a naval term for “well done,” so just for fun, we have decided to share our review of products and gadgets under this title.

I was given a Ryobi impact driver for Christmas and how did I ever live without it?! I first wondered what is the difference between my regular Ryobi drill and this impact driver.

DSC_0914Well first off the impact driver is smaller than a regular 18V drill, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in pure power. This driver can really get the job done. It not only is good for powering through some difficult to drill through material but it has the torque to loosen rusted nuts and lag bolts.

I recently used this driver while building my pergola and fence gate. The chuck is different than the one on a Ryobi drill but you can find adapters, sockets and drill bits at Home Depot for most purposes. I was just amazed how quickly I was able to drill through 10 inches of boards to install carriage bolts in the pergola.   It is a gift that will have me completing many projects for my family.  (I love Ryobi products!)

BZ Ryobi!
